Evangelism: The Challenge And The Joy
(see description under Religious Studies) |
Lay Eucharistic Ministry
This intent of this course is to prepare lay persons for Lay
Eucharistic Ministry. Material presented includes: an historical
overview, the Canons of the Church, diocesan guidelines, the
service itself, mid pastoral issues. Once students complete this
course, they may discuss with their Rector application for LEM
licensure. |
Sexual Exploitation And Child Sexual Abuse
These courses are two of those required of all deacons, priests
and many Lay people involved in the leadership of our parishes,
and will offer training in issues of child sexual abuse and sexual
harassment in employment;, mentor and colleague relationships.
The unique dimensions of the pastoral relationship and sexual
exploitation will also be presented. |
A New Look at Women in the Bible
From Athaliah (Queen of Judah) to Zipporah (wife of Moses), women
had significant roles to play in Scripture as daughters, wives,
mothers and spiritual guides. This course will explore the roles
24 of these key women play in Scripture. |
Ministry with the Bereaved
This course will prepare the student to minister more effective
with those in crisis or bereavement. Emphasis will be placed
on: ministry in the midst of the crisis, planning the funeral
and beyond, ministry with the bereaved and the creation of a
parish bereavement program. |

Ministry with those affected by Addiction and Recovery
The world is filled with people who are facing pain and suffering
as a result of their own or the addictive behavior of a loved
one. Students will explore the issues, needs, and ways to reach
out in an intentional way to these individuals. |
