Welcome to the Institute for Christian Studies! You are about
to enter a wonderful world of opportunities for gaining knowledge
and insight, friends and fellowship, a deepened faith in Our
Lord, and an appreciation for the tradition of the Episcopal
Church.
We are looking forward to an exciting year. Interest and enthusiasm
for the school grows, amongst students, faculty, and even prospective
students. Increasing numbers of courses are offered, which provide
great opportunities for expanding knowledge, awareness and skills
in ministry.
The curriculum includes Scripture and Religious courses,
as well as special ministry workshops, the Lay Eucharistic
Ministry and Lay Preacher Training Programs. In conjunction
with the Christian Education Commission, the Certificate Program
in Christian Education will begin its second year. A new
program, in conjunction with the Walking the Mourner's Path
Ministry will train facilitators for this important work
among the bereaved. A program in which anyone can find help in
discerning a call to ministry (lay and ordained) is new this
year.
