In the Diocese of Central Florida the following standards regarding the continuing education of priests and deacons apply:

• All full time, stipendiary priests shall take 24 Contact Hours of Continuing Education annually.

• All active deacons shall take 12 contact hours of Continuing Education annually.

• A Contact Hour is defined as each hour the student and instructor are together in a learning situation, as distinguished from a Continuing Education Unit (CEU).

This policy went into effect on January 1, 2005.  Compliance for 2009 should be reported to Canon Bennett by the end of the year but no later than May 1, 2010.  You may do so by letter or by submitting the following form.  The intent of this policy is not to be cumbersome or punitive but as a way of calling attention to the importance of continuing education for all those who serve in ordained ministry in this church.
