Golfers can hit the course for some great prizes and, more importantly, for a good cause when the Camp Wingmann Sixth Annual Golf Tournament is held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 17, at River Greens Golf Course, located next door to Camp Wingmann in Avon Park.

A fundraiser for Camp Wingmann, a popular retreat for youths and adults, the 18-hole golf tournament will feature some fantastic prizes, including a $10,000 cash prize, airfare for two anywhere in the U.S., a set of Callaway irons (3-PW), a Sharp LCD flat-screen TV, and door prizes. Additional raffle tickets will be sold throughout the tournament.

Cost is $75 for an individual, $300 for a foursome.

The tournament also has plenty of hole sponsorships available for individuals and businesses:

  • Bronze: Sponsors get a sign with their name on one hole for the tournament. Cost is $100.
  • Silver: Sponsors get a sign with their name on a tournament hole and complimentary registration for a foursome. Cost is $350.
  • Gold: Sponsors get a sign with their name and two complimentary registrations for foursome teams. Cost is $500.

The deadline for hole sponsor registration is Sunday, Feb. 4.

“This tournament is a great opportunity to have some fun while supporting a great cause,” said Father Deke Miller, the former Camp Wingmann director. “Camp Wingmann is a great and safe place where youth and families come to know and grow in Christ!”

Camp Wingmann is known for its six-week summer camp program that is Christ-centered and a lot of fun, as well as for hosting a variety of Diocesan youth programs, its popular winter camp for youth, and other events for church communities.

“We survive and thrive off the financial support of individuals and churches, and, of course, fundraisers such as this tournament,” Miller said. “This is a fun way in which we raise operating funds for the camp, so please plan on being a hole sponsor and player. Thank you for your support of this awesome ministry!”

Registration is being taken at www.campwingmann.org on the internet. For more information, call Miller at 772-828-9304.
