The Episcopal Church of St. John the Baptist in Orlando will host the annual meeting for the Episcopal Church Women (ECW) Central Deanery on Saturday, May 20.

The Episcopal Church Women (ECW) Central Deanery annual meeting will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, May 20, at The Episcopal Church of St. John the Baptist, 1000 Bethune Drive in Orlando.

Plans for the meeting include support and empowerment of women in their mission and ministry at church, home and in the community. The format includes group discussions and reflections as well as a presentation on Women of Vision (WOV), a spiritually-based training directed by the diocesan ECW at Bishop Greg Brewer’s request.

Keynote speaker, the Very Rev. Sarah L. Bronos, will expound on the theme “Building Bridges of Peace and Reconciliation Within Our Parishes and Our Communities.” Bronos serves as dean of the Central Deanery, Diocese of Central Florida, and rector at The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Maitland.

The Rev. Canon Dr. Justin S. Holcomb, canon for vocations for the Diocese of Central Florida, will be the preacher and celebrant at the Holy Eucharist. The Rev. Canon Nelson Pinder, rector emeritus, also will assist in the worship service.

ECW is the only organization that includes all women of The Episcopal Church. Each church is encouraged to send representatives of its parish women’s ministries to the meeting. Cost is $15 per person. Fee includes registration, continental breakfast and lunch.
