49_Pulse_Candles_JoanneFink_Zenspirations_croppedChurch of Our Saviour Okeechobee is hosting an ecumenical service with the local Ministerial Association on July 31, 2016 at 6:00 p.m.

This liturgy will focus on community-wide prayer for peace. We will honor the lives of the 49 victims of the Pulse shootings by reading their names,  while lighting a candle on the altar and ringing the sacristy bell for each person.

The names of the Dallas, TX police officers killed at the protest march will be read by a parishioner who is a sheriff’s officer in Okeechobee. A blue candle will be lit in their honor.

The sermon, prayers and song service will center on these tragedies while focusing on love, forgiveness and unity.
